Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Enable 2-Step Verification

Go to myaccount.google.com/security and enable 2-Step Verification if it is not already on. Google requires this before you can create App Passwords. Follow the prompts to verify your phone number and set up a second factor.

Generate an App Password

Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords. Enter a name like "Invoice Maker" and click Create. Google generates a 16-character password (e.g., abcd efgh ijkl mnop). Copy this password — you will paste it in the next step.

Configure in Invoice Maker

Log in to your dashboard, go to Settings → Email. Select Gmail as your email provider. Enter your full Gmail address (or Google Workspace email), paste the App Password (without spaces), set your business name, and click Save Email Settings.

Send a Test Email

Below the settings form, enter your own email address and click Send Test. You should receive a test email from your Gmail address within seconds. Check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case). If it arrives, you are ready to send invoices to customers.
