Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Create a Twilio Account
Go to twilio.com/try-twilio and sign up. Verify your phone number during registration. Twilio gives you $15.50 in trial credit — enough to send over 1,000 test SMS messages.
Buy a Phone Number
In the Twilio Console, go to Phone Numbers → Buy a Number. Search for a number in your country and select one with SMS capability. Local numbers cost about $1.15/month. For higher volume, consider a Messaging Service which handles sender selection automatically.
Copy Your Account Credentials
On the Twilio Console dashboard, you will see your Account SID (starts with AC) and Auth Token. Copy both values. These authenticate Online Invoice Maker to send SMS through your Twilio account.
Configure in Invoice Maker
Log in to your Invoice Maker dashboard, go to Settings → SMS Notifications. Enter your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and the phone number you purchased. Click Save.
Configure Reminder Schedule
Set up your preferred reminder timing: 3 days before due date (friendly heads-up), on due date (payment reminder), 1 day overdue (urgent nudge), and 7 days overdue (final notice). Enable or disable each individually.
Send a Test SMS
Enter your own phone number in the test field and click Send Test SMS. You should receive a message within seconds. Verify the content looks correct, then you are ready to send reminders to customers.
