Invoice Notifications in Microsoft Teams

Get real-time invoice alerts directly in your Teams channels. Know instantly when invoices are sent, viewed, paid, or overdue.

Why use Microsoft Teams for invoice alerts?

Real-Time Visibility

Your entire finance team sees invoice events as they happen. No more checking dashboards or waiting for email forwards.

Mobile Push Notifications

Get alerted on your phone through the Teams app. Never miss a payment or overdue invoice, even when away from your desk.

Channel-Based Organization

Route different notification types to specific channels. Payments to #finance, overdue alerts to #collections, new invoices to #sales.

No Extra Software

If your team already uses Microsoft 365, there is nothing new to install. Notifications appear right where your team already works.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

1

Create an Incoming Webhook in Teams

Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the channel where you want invoice notifications. Click the ... menu next to the channel name, select Connectors (or Workflows in newer versions), and add an Incoming Webhook. Name it something like "Invoice Alerts".

2

Copy the Webhook URL

After creating the webhook, Teams generates a unique URL. Click Copy to save it to your clipboard. This URL is what Online Invoice Maker uses to send notifications to your channel. Keep it secure — anyone with this URL can post to your channel.

3

Configure in Invoice Maker

Log in to your Invoice Maker dashboard, go to Settings → Webhooks. Click Add Webhook, select Microsoft Teams as the destination, and paste the webhook URL you copied.

4

Select Event Types

Choose which events should trigger Teams notifications. Available events include Invoice Created, Invoice Sent, Payment Received, Invoice Overdue, and Quotation Accepted. Select only the events that matter to your team to avoid notification fatigue.

5

Test the Connection

Click Send Test Notification to verify everything works. You should see a rich card appear in your Teams channel within seconds. If it works, click Save to activate the webhook.
